King's Island Haunt

This past weekend I went to Kings Island Amusement Park for their "Haunt". Every year throughout the season of fall leading up to Halloween, Kings Island decorates the whole park and basically makes the entire park a haunted house on the weekends. We get to still ride all of the rides, and there are also haunted houses set up in the park that you can go in. I went with my friends and met up with my family. My stepdad lives in Columbus and Kings Island is a little bit outside of Cincinnati. We left Slippery Rock on Friday after classes and headed to Columbus. We got to my stepdad's house and met my brother and my mom there. We all just hung out there on Friday night, played some games and watched movies. The next morning we all got up and got right on the road to head towards Cincinnati. The park itself is huge and has so many different areas, during the day you can see all of the decor and the feel of halloween. The real beauty of it is at night. At 6pm they have a show where they "release the monsters" into the park. All of these scare actors come out and start walking around the park and scaring people. The whole park gets filled with fog from machines, they turn off most lights and replace them with orange, purple, pink, and blue lights. You can't really see very well, which is kind of the whole point so that way the actors can come out from around a corner, or even just through the fog, and scare you. We all had a lot of fun, we got to ride rides, eat some great food, see some really cool shows, and got a few good scares walking around the park. I would 100% recommend going to it, or something similar. Cedar Point, Kennywood, Hershey Park, and so many other amusement parks do this same thing. It's a great way to get into the Halloween spirit!

  1. That sounds like such a cool and fun experience. It's really cool that you got to go on rides and also take part in cool halloween themed attractions. It must've been really nice to get to share it with both your friends and family. We have a similar thing back from where I live, it's conneaut lake park and during the last couple weeks leading up to halloween they turn it into "Ghost Lake". Where they also release monsters and creepy people. I really enjoy the scary atmosphere and think it is a fun activity to do with friends and family.

  2. I've never been to something like this and dang am I jealous. My family loves to do these types of things and you might've just picked what we do around this time next year. I think the whole park looking foggy and hard to see would be really cool to experience in person. Loved reading your blog and sounds like you had a great time.

  3. Hey Gracie! That sounds like an enjoyable night. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because of the movies and haunted houses. Haunted houses are a lot of fun, especially this one in Erie called Erie Abys. It sounds like so much fun to go to an amusement park during Halloween. Your blog was a great read and sounded very fun.
